Is it safe to redact sensitive information with this tool?

Yes. All redaction is done directly in your browser. Your files never leave your device, so your sensitive information remains private and secure.

Can I remove multiple words or phrases at once?

Yes. You can enter multiple keywords to redact, and the tool will find and remove all of them throughout your PDF.

What's the difference between Quick and Secure redaction?

Quick Redaction places black boxes over text visually, but the text may still be selectable/searchable. Secure Redaction permanently removes the underlying text, making it unrecoverable.

Will redaction work on scanned documents?

This tool redacts text-based PDFs. For scanned documents (images), the text isn't searchable. Consider using our OCR tool first, or manually black out areas in an image editor.

Can I undo a redaction after saving?

No. Once you download the redacted PDF, the redaction is permanent (especially with Secure mode). Always keep a backup of your original document.
